Surprise Jerry – Privacy Policy

Overview

Surprise Jerry is a fun Chrome extension whose single purpose is to occasionally display a small dog animation on web pages. It can show Jerry when you click the toolbar button for the current tab, and, if you choose to enable it in the settings, it can show Jerry at random times on sites you visit.

Data collection

Surprise Jerry does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data. The extension does not connect to any external servers and does not send any information to the developer or to third parties.

Information stored locally

Surprise Jerry uses Chrome storage only for two small pieces of information, stored locally in your browser:

• Whether the optional global random popup mode is enabled. This is a simple on or off setting.
• A timestamp of when Jerry was last shown. This is used only to avoid showing the animation too frequently.

This information never leaves your device and is not used for profiling, advertising, or analytics.

Permissions used

Surprise Jerry requests the following Chrome permissions:

• activeTab Used so that when you click the toolbar button, the extension can temporarily run its content script on the active tab in order to display the Jerry animation on that page.
• scripting Used to inject the bundled content script into pages and to register or unregister that script for the optional global mode. The extension does not inject or execute any third party or remote code.
• storage Used to store the global mode setting and the last shown timestamp as described above.
• Host permissions for <all_urls> (optional) If you enable the optional global random popup mode in the settings, the extension will request permission to run on all sites. This permission is used only so Jerry can appear on any page you visit. Global mode is completely optional and is disabled by default. You can turn it off at any time in the extension options.

Remote code and third parties

Surprise Jerry does not use any remote code. All scripts and assets are packaged inside the extension and loaded from the Chrome extension origin only. The extension does not load scripts from remote servers and does not include any analytics, tracking pixels, or advertising libraries.

Cookies and tracking

Surprise Jerry does not use cookies and does not track your browsing activity across sites. The extension only overlays the Jerry animation on pages according to your settings.

Children's privacy

Surprise Jerry is a simple novelty extension and does not collect any personal data from users of any age.
